Live Forever?

Live forever?

Forever doesn’t appeal to me although I could go for a few more years of healthy, robust life. What is the secret to longevity? Theoretical physicist, Michio KaKu suggests the answer lies in the study of genetics.

.

We often hear about how our life span as humans continues to gradually increase but not so much is said about the quality of that life. How long could we theoretically live? Controversial biomedical gerontologist Aubrey de Grey thinks it could be hundreds of years and he thinks they can be vigorous, enjoyable ones.

  1. What a fascinating series of videos you have here, L.K. I read your short “about me” on your home page before I ventured into your blog (which I followed, by the way) and I was impressed by your credentials. Aubey de Grey’s exposition totally captivated me. I chose that video because Physics of any kind scares the bejesus out of me. I’m too old to reap Aubey’s benefits of living to a thousand, but I can hopefully pass on his legacy to my children so I can be assured they will have 930 years of feeling how old I felt after this morning’s exercises. I re-pulled my siatica (or whatever) this morning and I’m a bit grumpy — moreover because I was convinced that I had overcome my last bout with it through my vigorous daily exercise program.

I’m really anticipating reading your future blog posts. And, while I’m at it, thanks for following mine. I’d like to invite you, by the way, to go back to it and subscribe to my newsletter (on the right sidebar). It’s for writers and I’ve got over 50 years practice under my belt, so you’ll have something to gain from it, I’m sure. Sorry I’m using your podium for my promotion.

    Great job!
